What Do You Do?
The world is changing quickly. We're due for a new style of visionary leadership that starts with you.
It’s often difficult to describe what exactly you do.
What skills or abilities do you have that differentiate you from the rest of the pack?
Well, you can make a basic spreadsheet, so Excel — you might as well include Microsoft Office. You’ve worked a number of customer service jobs, but doesn’t ‘customer support’ sound more professional?
That’s all bullshit.
Most people don’t realize, but we’re likely entering a period where the ratio of humans to androids is 1:2. The term used for this version of reality is artificial general intelligence (AGI). Alongside the Internet of Things (IoT), there won’t be a lot of value in the pedantic skillset you’ve defined yourself by up to this point.
Perhaps you’ll just be able to stay at home then — you’ll receive a monthly stipend for food and subscriptions, and enjoy life inside of your 5-mile city.
That’s probably the life for a vast percentage of society. I’m calling it now — so are millions of others. In fact, our leadership has put most of this into language the general population can understand. However, nobody seems to be listening.
I’d like to get the attention of the people who are — it’s time to get certain things in order.
What do you do?
Unless you’re a developer or very clear in your professional life, you probably don’t want to rely on your resume. Even then, perhaps you’re tired of being defined by your professional abilities.
When I ask that question, I want to get underneath the layer of your everyday life.
Do you feel like you live with purpose?
Are you seen as a person with a sense of authenticity and confidence?
Do people feel good when when you enter a room?
I believe we’re all capable of answering “yes” to each question.
However, we’ve been taught to behave in a particular way — like lambs to the slaughter, we’ve replaced an essential warmth with a manufactured personality. Unfortunately, this essence can’t be bought. Some of the most toxic people I’ve encountered have been wealthy beyond understanding. Although they had money, they seemed to be the furthest away from authentic happiness.
I’d like to worth with people eager to create powerful transformation in their lives.
This means seeing the world (and their own lives especially) through an objective lens. Once you master this powerful tool, you’ll be better informed about your blindspots, and the things holding you back from success in your daily life.
This might include your relationships, career, finances, health, or the less mundane qualities, like confidence, and overall disposition. In the end, they’re all connected in the holistic system of your life. In isolation, success in a particular field doesn’t count for much — however, when combined with a real sense of place in the world, it becomes just one more tool for the Swiss Army knife of your general expression.
Learning how to create an Excel spreadsheet might be important, but the world is moving in a new direction.
It’s more important than ever to see things clearly. This includes your own life.
It’s more important than ever to rediscover the essential warmth of your being. You’ll be able to share it with the people in your life, and create a feedback loop of success and real transformation.
It’s time to step-up — to become a new style of leader.
Let’s connect. I love to work with passionate people, and to help them confront their blindspots to discover authentic success.
